Capital Highs auditorium played host to the top people involved in the Montana Meth campaign, including executive director of the project Bill Slaughter and Secretary of State Linda McCulloch.

The Princess and the Frog

As I sat in the theatre watching The Princess and the Frog, I felt like I was a little girl again with amazement at animals dancing and singing and with anticipation that the princess would get her prince. The Princess and the Frog is a fairy tale set in Jazz Age-era New Orleans. The heroine in this delightful tale is a young lady named Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) who has worked all her life in hopes of opening up her own restaurant (a dream she shares with her father).

Based on the true story of offensive lineman Michael Oher who currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens, The Blind Side tells the story of how Leigh Anne Tuohy (played by Sandra Bullock) , a southern interior designer brought Oher into her home and ultimately made him a part of her family

It’s Complicated

Who ever thought that a romantic comedy about people over the age of 50 would be so much fun?! Well this hilarious, at some times risqué film will have you wanting more and more! It’s Complicated starring the smashing Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada), the raunchy yet comical Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), and the sweet and side-splitting Steve Martin (Cheaper by the Dozen) is about a once married, now divorced couple, Jane and Jake Adler (Streep and Baldwin) who, while at their son’s college graduation, have an affair (Jake is re-married).

French Club

Are you bored at lunch and want to participate in something fun? Well then come to French club in Room 111 at lunch! The club meets every other Friday and watches French movies(not your typical French romance), brainstorms about things to do around our community, such as the Festival of Trees, and has an all around good time.

Wrestling

Capital high’s wrestling season is in full swing and the Bruin wrestlers are proving a formidable force in this season. Seven seniors lead the team this year out of some 55 boys who tried out. The team is lead by coach James Sheridan, a teacher at C.R. Anderson. Some of the Bruin front runners this year include seniors Simon Asay, Steve Emge, and Alex Markle. Emge Is a junior And placed runner-up in 112 last year at Western AA divisionals and sophomore Markle placed 3rd in the 198 weight class.

If you saw the mass of people congregating at Capitals cafeteria and wandering around the school last month you witnessed Montana’s AA schools Speech and Debate teams, including Capital’s team. One of Capital High’s determined debaters at the tournament was Katie Anderson. Katie’s event is Public Forum Debate which “has to be the best event out there.”

Just because you aren’t taking German doesn’t mean you cant come to German Club every other Wednesday at lunchtime. German Club isn’t exclusive and anyone, even if they don’t speak a syllable of German, can come. As you have probably observed throughout the school year the German club has hosted and participated in a variety of events.

Did you participate in the soccer game a few weeks back? Or, maybe, you bought some of those huge, round suckers people were selling? Those events and many others were hosted by clubs around the school, including Spanish Club. Spanish Club meets on Tuesdays, at lunch, where it plays games, has fiestas and talks about how to participate in the school and community.
