Do the ends – being the information- justify the means- physical/psychological torture? Both sides to the torture debate have legitimate arguments, but, the main question seems to be can moral arguments really stand against protecting lives?
Every Christmas season I dread driving around town; the streets are packed bad drivers in cars overflowing with Christmas presents. What exactly explains this shopping fervor? Some may say it’s the joy of giving, some may say it’s a way to patch broken relationships, but I say it’s good old fashioned greed. People feel the need to spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on Christmas presents all for the sake of giving and fixing relationships.
Many high school students, especially juniors and seniors, are beginning to worry about the price of going to college. Every year, tuition fees increase, and even public and state college tuition fees are expensive. Tuition usually increases about eight percent every year, and while it may not sound like much, eight percent is a huge increase.
A little over a year ago, Barack Obama was elected as the president of the United States. His ideas were new and different, and he promised us “change.” And now after he has been in office for less than a year, some people are angry or disappointed that changes have not been made. But changes have been made. The changes Obama has executed may have not seemed to make much of a difference or were not a drastic as people had hoped, but change takes time.
So yet another year has passed, and we find dear reader that there are still those issues that we find unresolved. As many of us reflect on the events of the past 3651/4(that’s right I said 1/4) we find that there are still many causes that we, not only as individuals, but as a society may further.
Every once in a while there’s a video that manages to float to the top of the mostly depraved and trivial world that is Youtube. Yes my readers, these videos that go beyond the confines of genital trauma, creepy animals acting like humans, and general tomfoolery are the reason I write today.
Rakim’s latest album “The Seventh Seal” is his third solo release. And it has been ten years since his last and “The Seventh Seal” did deliver and it also came with a little bit of philosophy. It is face melting and Rakim is simply a rap legend and his tightly crafted rhyme schemes and his delightful word play made it pretty awesome to listen to but his songs sometimes did fall short.
Robin Thicke’s latest album “Sex Therapy” is quite incredible. I, personally, have never listened to Robin Thicke and I was expecting just some half-bit R&B album that had a super low production budget but I got something more than just another R&B album.
The fictional character of Sherlock Holmes has been solving crimes in books, movies and television for decades; however, I don’t think anyone has ever portrayed this incredible detective as perfectly as Robert Downy Jr., the fearless leader of the 2009 film, Sherlock Homes.
Malice in Wonderland. What a great title and it just happens to be Snoop D oh Douba G’s tenth album in sixteen years and wow what an album it is. Snoop Dogg is not that ex-gang banger straight off the street anymore but more of a rap icon with his lackadaisical flow and his laid back attitude.
