After years of having a difficult to locate entrance, Capital High School is taking steps toward a more noticeable front door. In an attempt to reduce entrance confusions and make the building more appealing, measures are now nearly complete in an effort to give a face lift to our front entrance. The chain link fence that formerly lined the entrance has been removed to encourage students to use the grassy area in the warmer months. A drainage system, has been engineered to keep water, and subsequently ice, from pooling and freezing. Memorial benches are also being added to large concrete bases in the front lawn, providing a place for students to congregate after school, or after sporting events. These improvements are all part of an effort to not only make our school more aesthetically pleasing, but also safer and more functional. While students may not be able to appreciate these added benefits in the sub-zero weather, come springtime Capital’s front entrance will be both student and visitor friendly!
