Mischief in the Locker Room
by Julia Anderson
Lately the grapevine has been a twitter with talk of locker room theft and discussion of why people are stealing things from the locker rooms. Jeana Ratcliff, a freshman at Capital High, found out that her iPod was stolen a few weeks ago. “I had it in my backpack and then I came back and it was gone,” Jeana says. “I just really miss it. It was really expensive and I loved it like a child.” Many others have had things stolen from them as well. To prevent things like this from occurring, the gym faculty has decided to lock the gym door by the cafeteria from the outside so no one can get in. Students will now have to use the other door farther down the hall. Students are advised to lock all valuables in their assigned lockers. Things such as cell phones, iPods, money, and any valuables should go in those lockers. Although the boys locker rooms have not been experiencing the same theft issues, it is still wise to protect valuables of any kind and place them in lockers to prevent pilfering.
