Bruin Fall Sports Update: Soccer
There is little more than a month left in the 2008 soccer season for the Bruin boys and girls teams. With just five games left for each, the Bruins are struggling to stay in the running for the state title. After both teams recently lost to their crosstown rivals, the boy’s placing in the Western AA Conference has now been overtaken by the Bengals, who were formerly in third place. The girls, sitting at fourth place in the conference, have some work to do to catch up as well. On Friday, both teams battled Glacier Wolfpack, ending in a draw for both sides. They were also on the road this past weekend, to take on the Missoula Hellgate Knights. The boys did well, winning with a score of two goals with the Knight’s with zero. Their goals were scored by Devin Palmer and Tommy Clinch. The girls finished the other way, with Hellgate scoring two goals and the Bruins not making any. Their next matchup, again against crosstown rivals the Bengals, takes place on October 14 at 3 pm and 5pm at Carroll College. — Update by Zoe Potter
